Romance of Their Own
About Movie
Do kids know what love is? ¡KDirector KIM Tae-kyun, with the energy of Volcano High, he depicts love.
'Watching these kids hide their sadness so they wouldn't hurt each other warmed my heart. I think that is a true love, something adults are unable to do,' says director Tae-kyun Kim.
After watching "Volcano High," Quentin Tarantino recommended director KIM Tae-kyun to RCA, the best agency for directors in America. Tarantino spared no praise for Kim's unique Asian-fusion fighting style. This time, Kim is trying his hand at a love story between teenagers¡K In "Romance of Their Own," this unique style of Kim's is very much alive. Especially in the scene at the closed factory where JO Han-sun and KANG Dong-won fight barehanded without any stuntmen and wire action, the charm of the two actors along with Kim's distinct energetic action style is quite evident. The meeting of explosive action and painful young love¡K To those who ask, 'what do kids know of love?' the film "Romance of Their Own" offers a moving answer.
Synopsis
Bringing tears even to the eyes of adults, the true romance of these youngsters. - "Romance of Their Own"
JUNG Han-kyung, returns to Seoul
In both personality and looks, Han-kyung seems right off the bus from the countryside. She has just arrived in the city of Seoul to live with her mother and she transfers to Kang-shin High School¡K
The original 'King Card (the most popular boy)' BAHN Hae-won, sets his sights on JUNG Han-kyung
However, her life in Seoul is a series of emotional and physical shocks. As she rides on a bus, she gets hit on the head by some dude's shoe. But her woes do not end there. The guy who threw the shoe, BAHN Hae-won, is no ordinary dude. The original 'King Card' BAHN Hae-won, who has droves of girls from neighboring schools following him, feels sorry for the flustered Han-kyung. Finding her cute, he falls for her. And like his personality, Hae-won makes a rash pass at her¡K
BAHN Hae-won, he provokes JUNG Tae-sung
But the problem is JUNG Tae-sung, the best fighter at the neighboring high school, Sung-kwon High. He has also fallen for JUNG Han-kyung. Hiding behind a bashful face is the strong fist and ball of stubbornness that is Tae-sung. With pride and love at stake, the two boys do not give an inch as a fight ensues.
The true romance of these youngsters
However, Tae-sung has a fateful secret. He cannot love Han-kyung even if he wanted to. Not knowing this, Han-kyung agonizes and agonizes over this as she tries to find a way not to hurt either one of them. In the end, Tae-sung leaves Han-kyung. Han-kyung and Hae-won learn of Tae-sung's secret too late. As we watch, our hearts ache and their bright faces brings even adults to tears.

Who could perform "Jung Tae-sung" as good as Kang. Jung's rebellious but sad smile, tough action will put Kang the most popular star in this time.
Filmography:

Lee Chung-ah was surely the envy of everybody for working with the hottest actors: Kang Dong-won and Cho Han-sun. However, let's not overlook the arresting and innocent smile, pure and clean character of the Korea's so-called Claire Danes
Filmography:
Director - KIM Tae-kyun
<Director's Comment>
While shooting this film, I cannot tell you how happy I was and how much fun I had working with the actors. Their youth and energy and enthusiasm are so beautiful and lovely. When I first opened the book, "Romance of Their Own," I only got through a few pages before I gave up on it numerous times. The words, not really a literary language nor spoken, floated around me in empty space and the story would not penetrate my head. I had the foreboding that I would have to give up this project. But then, as I got past halfway through the book, I found myself drawn into the story. The innocence, the uncalculating, and not looking at what lies ahead - is this not what real love is, something we have long forgotten? As it is commonly said, adults are incapable to love in this manner. While working on this film, this was exactly what I often saw in their faces. I just hope to portray to audiences exactly how they are.
