日本愛情片奇蹟 小說系列交織出一部感人電影
兩個寂寂無名的作家憑《天国の本屋》及《戀火》一系列愛情小說打動日本讀者，突破50萬部小說銷量之後，故事更贏得《初戀》、《命》導演篠原哲雄的讚賞，將它結集成一齣感人至深的愛情電影。本片由《Pride》日劇天后竹內結子一人分飾兩角主演，樂壇天后松任谷由實破天荒擔當配樂。感人情節，震撼全日本！
故事大綱
天上、人間；一男、一女；兩段交錯的愛情物語。
天国：
鋼琴家健太（玉山鐵二飾），一天無故地被「天國」召去。他來到了「書店」，這裡有為客人提供朗讀服務，健太一抵埗，就被安排到朗讀部門工作。健太從此為顧客朗讀書籍，亦因此認識了翔子（竹內結子飾）。原來翔子生前也是鋼琴家，可惜因為一件事而與鋼琴訣別……
人間：
在小鎮內艱苦經營日本糕店的香夏子（竹內結子飾），為了振興小鎮內的商店，決定組織煙花大會。她渴望穿上已故姨媽翔子的和服，看著天空再次發放失傳多年的「戀之花火」。傳說中，男女一起看這煙花後，就會愛上對方。可惜，「戀之花火」的煙花大師在一次意外後放棄了煙花工作，過著自暴自棄的生活……
究竟健太為何突然被帶到天国？「戀之花火」會否再次綻放？健太與香夏子又有何關係？萬千思憶，盡在一個源頭，完結在一篇樂章……

∼∼由小說到電影∼∼
奇蹟掀熱潮 「書店」效應蔓延全國
本片改編自同名系列的人氣愛情小說【天国の本屋】及【戀火】，但其實原著小說之所以能夠掀起熱潮，是一次意想不到的奇蹟。
2000年，兩個寂寂無名的作家松久淳和田中涉合著了一部以天国為背景的愛情小說【天国の本屋】，可惜推出後，市場反應極差，出版社甚至打算用碎紙機毀滅積聚如山的存貨…就在這時候，日本東北部一間小書店的店長亦在整理存貨，他發現了一堆存放了一年多也賣不去的【天国の本屋】，拈來一讀，竟深深被打動了。於是，他親筆寫了一篇推薦此書的文章，並張貼在店內重點推介，之後他向出版社多要150部，惹來同行大為關注，更吸引了【朝日新聞】以「愛書人的愛讀之書」大字標題報道此事，霎時間掀起搶購【天国の本屋】熱潮，更相繼引來報刊、電視等各大傳媒報導，乃日本小說界中前所未見的現象。2002年3月，松久及田中推出了【天国の本屋２】；同年9月推出第３部【戀火】，將熱潮推至高峰，令【天国の本屋】成為現代愛情小說系列的經典。至今，小說已被翻譯成中文及韓文等多國語言，亦被多次搬上銀幕，由小雪等紅星主演。
新戀愛教祖 首次編劇
至於這個感動全日本的電影版，則是將小說系列的首集【天国の本屋】及第三集【戀火】交織而成。導演篠原特別找來有「新戀愛教祖」之稱的著名愛情小說作者狗飼恭子來編劇。推出過《低溫火傷》、《破壞雪櫃》等人氣作的狗飼，由於是第一次編劇，加上要將多部作品融合為一，所以過程遇上不少困難。結果，她與導演篠原索性在酒店閉關，一起完成劇本。
由於兩位原著作者與導演都是男性，狗飼亦不忘將女性的視點和思緒帶入戲中，總言之絕不負其「新戀愛教祖」之名聲！
∼∼人氣紅星大挑戰∼∼
竹內結子 一人分飾兩角
本片女主角竹內結子乃人氣、實力兼備的日本新星。她多年來都是日劇寵兒，04年初與木村拓哉主演《Pride》後更奠定了「日劇女王」之地位；電影方面，她亦於03年以《黃泉復活》一片贏得「日本電影批評家大賞」最佳女主角殊榮。
今次，竹內又有突破性演出，她要一人分飾姨媽與姪女，而兩人年齡相差足足10多年。姪女香夏子是日本糕店老闆的獨生女，她為了小鎮內一蹶不振的商店街，籌辦煙花大會，再度發放失傳了十多年的「戀之花火」，而為了此事，她四處奔波，是充滿幹勁的少女。
姨媽翔子則住在天國，她12年前死去，年紀較大，打扮成熟。她生前是一個失意鋼琴家，鬱鬱不歡地帶著一樁秘密前往天國。
日本傳媒都讚賞只得24歲的竹內把兩個性格、年齡相異的角色演得如魚得水，難怪她的演技廣受認定！
兩位主角 苦練鋼琴
姨媽翔子在天国中遇上了為她朗讀書籍的健太，兩人生前同樣是鋼琴家，同樣失意，但最後，他們都為了心中所愛，合作寫了一首動人的樂章，並再次彈奏鋼琴。
但原來，飾演這兩個角色的竹內結子及玉山鐵二都從未彈過鋼琴，所以兩人惟有在開拍之前接受一連串的鋼琴特訓！可是，兩位主角本身是人氣紅星，同樣身兼影、視、廣告三職，忙得不可開交，但他們依然堅持用休息時間抽空上鋼琴課，又分別在家中添置Keyboard，爭取練習時間。直至拍攝期間，到了小樽現場，他們也不放過練習機會，一收工就在當地上堂學琴。結果，兩人收成正果，在小樽演出合奏鋼琴的一幕，順利完成，來自小樽的一班臨時演員更被感動得拍爛手掌。
∼∼如詩如畫的場景∼∼
人間天堂 北海道
對北海道情有獨鍾的篠原導演，過往多次在當地取景拍戲，今次更坦言，腦海中由始至終出現「天国＝北海道」的構思。因此，開拍前，攝製隊縱橫北海道大地找景，最後決定主景為小樽，其他拍攝範圍則北至更別（Sarobetsu），南至室蘭。
更幸運的是，在北海道拍攝期間，導演如願以償，竟然開工的日子都沒有下雨！美術組人員大喊更別的景色如「電腦特技一樣完美無瑕」，還有石狩濱的迷人海岸、增毛的大自然景色、室蘭的商店街，以及恰如「人間天堂」的小樽市……總言之，北海道迷人景色盡收鏡頭之下。
小樽碼頭「天国書店」變名勝
本片的主景之一，當然是點題的「天国書店」。攝製組一直打算在東京的片廠內重新搭建整個主景，卻想不到在小樽運河附近的碼頭上，發現了一個被棄置了的倉庫。這倉庫秉承了北海道建屋的優質傳統，以粗壯木材、巨大壁板建成，手工、用料都一流。美術組亦深信這現成的建築物比一個搭建的場景更有迫真感和魅力，於是就決定以此倉庫作為「天国書店」。
在「書店」的細節上，大家都花了很多心思。美術指導小澤秀高大膽地在「書店」中間搭建了一個水池，並配以幻想式的背景，營造出與別不同的天国氛圍；書架上3000冊以上的藏書，則是由多間二手書店、出版社借出，亦有工作人員帶來自己的珍貴藏書和寫真集！牆上的浮雕出自小樽一班義工的手筆，別具意義。
結果，監製宮島秀司在拍攝完畢後，一聲號令要保留這場景。幸得小樽市的管理，「天国書店」至今仍保存在碼頭倉庫內，並成為當地節目場地之一，更一度成為旅遊熱點！
寒天下的煙花大會
要數片中的高潮場面，當然是壓軸的煙花大會。雖然放煙花的成本極高，而影片的製作費又有限，但為了報答辛苦多時的臨時演員和攝製隊，導演決定在現場發放200發煙花，大肆慶祝兼可以拍下最佳的現場感。
由於拍攝時是９月，北海道的晚上已冷得要命，但礙於故事背景是仲夏，一眾主角以及由石狩、札幌、小樽、當別等地找來的800位臨時演員都只可以穿著單薄的浴衣上陣。加上篠原對這場主戲要求特別高，結果，成千人在石狩濱的強風之下，捱冷至日出才能完成這場戲！
∼∼音樂∼∼
松任谷由實 首次夫婦檔做配樂
既然是兩個鋼琴家的愛情故事，音樂在片中亦擔當非常重要的角色。今次導演篠原破天荒請來日本樂壇大姐大松任谷由實(Yuming)及其丈夫松任谷正隆攜手為影片創作音樂，兩人雖合作過無數唱片，但一起做電影配樂還是第一次。拍攝前，兩人跟導演商討音樂風格時，由實已立時用口吹出一段調子，結果這段音樂成為片中的基調。
此外，罕有為電影唱主題曲的松任谷由實，今次亦為影片主唱了多首主打歌，包括戲中最重要的一首<永遠>。這歌正是由天国的翔子和地上的健太所合奏的樂章，旋律感人，令影片推至高潮。
導演及演員簡介
才氣導演 篠原哲雄
篠原哲雄，1962年出生於日本東京，畢業於明治大學法律系。初入行時，他曾為多部電影任助導，師承森田芳光、根岸吉太郎、金子修介、中原俊等著名導演；與此同時，他積極製作獨立電影，其中８米厘作品《Running High》於89年Pia電影節獲特別獎，16米厘作品《草上的工作》則獲神戶獨立電影節大獎。
篠原被譽為是日本新電影中最有才華的導演之一，至今已執導過近20部電影。他的作品以風格、題材多元化見稱，也喜歡每次起用不同的演員，包括江角真紀子、豐川悅司合演的感人作《命》、田中麗奈主演的浪漫作《初戀》、松田龍平主演的搞笑片《昭和歌謠大全集》，以及在片中出現的人氣女模香里奈，曾主演沖繩少年日誌《深呼吸的必要》。
日劇天后 竹內結子
在04春季日劇《Pride》內與木村拓哉談情說愛後，竹內結子旋即坐正「日劇女王」一位。1980年生於日本埼玉縣的竹內，16歲處女演出日劇《新．星期四怪談∼CYBORG》，19歲時被NHK連續劇《明日香》選中擔演女主角後，一劇成名。竹內至今依然是電視圈的寵兒，多年來主演過不少人氣劇集，包括與SMAP中居正廣合演的《白之影》、與妻夫木聰合演的《午餐的女王》、與長瀨智也合演的《櫻庭裕一郎》，以至最新的《新紐約物語》等。
竹內近年亦開始接拍電影，03年主演的愛情悲劇《黃泉復活》更在日本大獲好評，為她帶來「日本電影批評家大賞」最佳女主角殊榮，被喻為「人氣、實力兼備的新星」。她其他電影作還有《Innocent World》、《午夜凶鈴》、《星願》等。
人氣型男 玉山鐵二
身高182cm，現年24歲的玉山鐵二是近年最受注目的日本新晉男演員，本片更令他成為新一代愛情小生。玉山亦旋即被選為人氣漫畫《逆境Nine》電影版的男主角，此片已排期在05暑假檔公映。
玉山於1999年首度在電視劇《Naomi》登場，自此成為日劇紅人，短短５年間演出了逾十輯日劇，包括《薔薇十字架》、《真夜中別顏》、《東京Love Cinema》、《恨嫁入農家》等。
2001年，玉山才進身影圈，演出了不少人氣作，包括與性感女星優香合演的《為戀愛高歌》、和中村俊介等型男主演的青春反叛劇《Rockers》。04年初他演出了由宇多田光丈夫紀里谷和夫執導的話題作《Casshern》，型男形象更深入民心。
女模新影人 香里奈
在片中飾演天国書店收銀員由衣的是人氣女模香里奈。 1984年出生於日本愛知縣的香里奈，憑著甜美樣子，16歲起就成為日本人氣時裝雜誌「Ray」的特約模特兒；由2000年5月號處女登場以來，至今依然是「Ray」的No.1 Model。與此同時，她亦是CM界紅人，18歲就接拍了日本可口可樂廣告，之後亦為NEC、JAL日本航空等大企業擔當CM女郎。
過去甚少演出電視劇的香里奈，2004年一口氣接拍了三部電影。她獲篠原導演賞識，連續在《深呼吸的必要》及本片演出，同時又與加藤愛及伊藤英明合演了04暑假大片《海猿》，被喻為最令人期待的青春女星。

Now, a miracle for separated lovers is about to begin as heaven and earth intersect…
Heaven's Bookstore is a fantastic and heartrending love story that combines two best selling novels, "Heaven's Book Service" (Tengoku no Honya) and "Loving Fireworks" (Koibi ) respectively.
It is a tale depicting how love travels and spreads from one person to another, and shows love that exists in many forms on Earth and in Heaven.
Story
Heaven's Bookstore Opens
A young pianist of only technique, Kenta (Tetsuji Tamayama) loses his job with an orchestra one day. In his state of desperation, a thought hits Kenta: he's lost sight of the reason he plays the piano. That night, a suspicious-looking man in a Hawaiian shirt looks on at Kenta in a drunken stupor. Kenta wakes up to find himself in a room he has never been in before, but with an air of nostalgia. He hears a voice reading aloud from somewhere. It's the voice of the man in the Hawaiian shirt, Yamaki (Yoshio Harada).
"You start today", he says, at Heaven's Bookstore.
"No worries, you're not dead yet."
Kenta is told by Yamaki that he's just been brought here for a temporary job. In addition to selling books, this bookstore, provides a service of public reading to customers. Although he is unsure of his new surroundings, Kenta starts to work for this new part-time job.
A beautiful but lonely woman, Shoko (yuko Takeuchi) requests a reading one day. When Kenta opens the book, he finds a handwritten music verse in the book.
Fireworks of Love
Meanwhile, back on Earth, Kanako (also by Yuko Takeuchi), the daughter of a Japanese patisserie store, is planning to bring back the fireworks event, which used to be held in summer. She would go to fireworks with her aunt, Shoko every year. Everyone who watched the fireworks would look forward to the last piece, the "Loving Fireworks." It was told that couples that watch it together would be forever united in true love.
However, the fireworks shows were discontinued when Takimoto (Teruyuki Kagawa), a young craftsman who made the Loving fireworks (Japanese-style firework called wabi) quit the trade because of an accident. A fireworks explosion caused his fiancée to lose her hearing, and the tragedy lead him to make wabi again but he's at a loss when he sees her, a young girl that resembles his dead girlfriend.
The Unfinished Piano Suite
Back in heaven, Kenta visits the home of Shoko, intrigued by the written music. He finds a grand piano and an unfinished musical score. Shoko had been the pianist that was the inspiration for him to first to start playing the piano. She was a gifted pianist whose promising future was destroyed when an accident caused her to have trouble in hearing.
"But I didn't want him to give up fireworks", she says - it turns out Shoko's lover was Takimoto. Every year, the young couple made fireworks and music together, The accident happened when they were working on the tenth song. The fireworks was never launched, and the suite went unfinished. Shoko's health deteriorated afterwards, and she came to heaven without being able to meet Takimoto, and the chance to complete the music. What was left with her was the title of the tenth song - "Eternity"…
The Beginning of Eternity
Kenta resolves to finish that last music for her, for the suite that awaits its completion, and for himself. On earth, the fireworks event is about to begin. Although there is no word from Takimoto, Kanako believes he'll launch the Loving Fireworks until the end.
The fireworks show reaches the Finale. At the same time, Kenta senses his return to earth draws close as he and Shoko completes the final song.
Heaven and earth. In two places where both intersect, the same melody is about to be heard…

After graduating from Meiji University's School of Law, Shinohara set his sights on filmmaking and studied under directors Yoshimitsu Morita, Kichitaro Negishi, Shusuke Kaneko and Shun Nakahara as an assistant director.
His 8mm piece "Running High" won a special award at PFF'89, and "Work on the Grass" (in 16mm), received the Grand Prix prize at the 1993 Kode international independent Film Festival. As a young and talented film director, Shinohara then spent the following years prolifically releasing a series of movies including "One More time, One More Chance" (1996), "What I Can Do for You" (1999), "First Love" (2000), "Suite de jeudi" (2001), "lnochi" (2002), "Jam Films Kendama" (2002), "Eau de vie" (2003) and "The collection of Show Song Encyclopedias" (2003). "Breathe in, Breathe out" is scheduled to play Theaters in May 2004.
"Earth's reality and unknowable heaven - in this film, they are two sides of the same coin. From behind the cameral I wanted to create a world that could be either. In this sense, heaven is one more side of reality."
