One placid summer day, Fai and his lover Po were spending the afternoon silently on a beach. While Fai were away. Calmly watching Fai, Po wordlessly walked to the white hazy sea and disappeared ever since, leaving only a photo and pieces of memories to puzzled Fai.

Five years have passed, a once successful photojournalist Fai is now dwindled to snapping pictures of celebrities and expose their scandals as a paparazzi. During his assignments, Fai begins to develop a relationship with his protˆmgˆm Michelle, a newcomer photographer who admires Fai's work and sees him as more than her mentor. When Fai's new photo subject, a rich lady is mysteriously found dead, Fai and Michelle is drawn into investigating the murder. Fai never expects that the path will led to his own haunted past with Po.

I have always wanted to make a genre film, especially a thriller. One day when I was discussing the script with my screenwriter Anna, she asked me how I would feel if she were to vanish into thin air after she left the office that evening. I thought that would have been quite frightening. It had been a very ordinary day, and there were absolutely no signs that such a thing would happen. So we started developing the story, conceived the narrative structure, and at the end finished this love story with a touch of suspense. Perceived from a different angle and at a different time, the same setting carries different meanings. The idea is for the audience to, one step at a time, realize the uniqueness of each character, and that every day is special.

When I started making independent films, I always made the characters the mouthpieces of my thoughts. That was indeed self-indulgent. With this film, I have especially created characters that I do not entirely identify with. It was quite sobering; and things fell into their places naturally. As a love story, it may not be too romantic. But never someone given to earth-shattering romances, my only wishes is to capture a little truth and honesty in an emotional world shot full of holes.
