故 事 簡 介
宋 泰 一 （ 車 太 賢 飾 ） 被 學 校 公 認 為 無 可 救 藥 的 搗 蛋 學 生 ， 雖 然 IQ 超 過 148 分 ， 但 經 常 逃 學 ， 周 圍 整 蠱 同 學 ， 總 之 「 有 破 壞 ， 無 建 設 」 。 豈 料 朱 綺 美 卻 對 夢 中 初 戀 情 人 、 青 梅 竹 馬 的 朱 綺 美 （ 孫 藝 珍 飾 ） 一 片 痴 心 ， 為 了 表 白 愛 意 ， 當 眾 向 她 求 婚 ， 誓 言 非 妹 不 娶 。 他 如 此 出 位 的 行 逕 卻 引 起 綺 美 的 父 親 、 又 是 泰 一 的 班 主 任 朱 容 大 （ 劉 東 根 飾 ） 注 意 ， 心 想 這 隻 「 癩 蝦 蟆 想 食 天 鵝 肉 」 ， 為 了 不 讓 女 兒 拖 著 如 瀾 泥 般 的 男 朋 友 ， 朱 容 大 提 出 嚴 苛 的 條 件 ， 要 泰 一 從 現 時 全 韓 國 第 三 十 萬 的 中 學 成 績 排 名 躍 升 為 前 三 千 名 。 他 發 憤 圖 強 ， 挑 燈 夜 讀 為 求 好 成 績 。 終 於 皇 天 不 負 有 心 人 ， 名 列 前 茅 ， 並 成 功 考 入 漢 城 國 立 大 學 的 法 律 學 院 。

1) Persistent, zealous country boy - SOHN Tae-il
"You're goddamn pretty and my body is boiling with hot blood! What am I supposed to do?"
A genius kid with an IQ of 148. But, he claims the one and only reason for his existence is to marry JOO Il-mae. As the super problem student of Kang High, he spends more day outside of school than inside. However, when Il-mae's father JOO Young-dal, who is also his teacher, publicly announces that he'll hand over his daughter if, and only if, Tae-il could raises his rank up to top 3,000 nationwide, he finally opens his book and grabs his pen. With his incredible brain, the best and the fastest way to learn is to memorize. Day and night, 24-7 for 2 years, he memorized everything!!! He even memorized every mathematical equations. And finally, he's admitted into Seoul National University. However, Young-dal can't hand over his daughter that easily! He pulls out every trick in the book to postpone the wedding and, last, even Il-mae changes her mind about Tae-il... Tae-il's struggle to defend his first love seems endless...

"I'm gonna shrivel up and die as an old lady without even one kiss~"
JOO Il-mae is the prettiest girl in Kyungnam Girls High. And next to her is SON Tae-il, a boy who loves her and only her for all his life. She is accustomed to Tae-il's persistent request for her hand in marriage and his various happening due to her father refusal. Nothing surprises nor shocks her anymore. 3) Charismatic Teacher - JOO Young-dal
"Can you leave Il-mae with me just a little longer?"
Master of adaptation and charismatic teacher JOO Young-dal. He always felt grateful to Tae-il's mother for breast feeding Il-mae, when she lost her mother as a baby, and he also considered and cared for Tae-il as one of his own. However, Tae-il is only interested in marrying Il-mae and as he gets older, he drifts farther and farther away school. As the last straw to bring him back to the right path, and of course with Il-mae's approval, Young-dal publicly announces that he'll hand over Il-mae to Tae-il if he raises his rank up to top 3,000 nationwide. (FYI, Tae-il has the lowest grades in his school.) However, powered by his whole-hearted devotion for Il-mae, he fulfills every demand made by Young-dal and soon, Yong-dal starts to get nervous about the real possibility of handing over his daughter to Tae-il. Every time he is cornered, he cleverly manipulates the situation and he's able keeps Il-mae by his side a little longer. However, when Tae-il passes the 1st level judicial examination, he is left with no more excuses!
"King of television strives to become king of silver screen" - YOO Dong-geun
After a successful comeback to the silver screen with <Married to the Mafia>, the talented actor YOO Dong-geun chose <Crazy First Love> to be his next project. As a veteran television actor, he has already established himself as a solid performer. In <Crazy First Love>, he comes across as a simple minded teacher with much compassion and desire, with perfect fluency of Kyungsam Province dialect. YOO Dong-geun has returned back to the silver screen when the Korean film industry suffering from shortage of talents and he's giving full support to defeat the hardship of the moment. 4) BYUN Kang-chul / SEONG Ji-ru
"Teacher, you haven't changed a bit~. It's so nice to see you again~"
Kang-chul is a gangster with the sensitivity of adolescent girl. As a former student of JOO Young-dal, he takes JOO's words as words from God. When Tae-il shows up at his hideout uninvited and ask him to take him in under his wings, he takes him back to Young-dal instead. The unexpected reunion with Young-dal rekindles boundless respect and devotion Kang-chul felt for his formal teacher during his school years. He repents his wrongdoings as a gang leader and starts off a new life as a sashimi restaurant owner. Plus, he becomes the greatest support for Tae-il's undying love for Il-mae.
5) LEE Seung-no / LEE Byung-wook
"I'll not be foolish and waste my time in building only a castle."
LEE Seung-jae is an elite MBA scholar, who has studied abroad. He's the president of Il-mae's company, as well as, Tae-il's rival in love. He's a multi-talented superman, who has mastered the beauty of martial arts and fancy dance steps. Plus, along with his good looks and his wealth, he surely is a tempting catch for all ladies. And, unfortunately, Tae-il is a no match. While Tae-il stays consistent to Il-mae with his mighty endurance, Seung-no captures her heart with his romantic gifts and sugarcoated words. However, behind his sweet smile and perfect appearance, another side of Seung-no exists. He is the ultimate play boy!!!
6) SHIN Seung-hwan / Keum-dong
"Teacher, what are the prerequisites to become Il-mae's husband?"
Keum-dong is Tae-il's partner in crime during their glorious(?) high school career. He, who also had a secret crush on Il-mae, carries on his unchanging comradeship and complete loyalty to his best friend Tae-il..
7) HA Joo-hee / Ji-won
"Il-mae will become LEE Seung-no's woman."
Ji-won is a coworker of Il-mae and, also the other girlfriend of LEE Seung-no. When Tae-il starts his propaganda of "JOO Il-mae, come back to me!" in front of her office, she approaches him with a critical evidence about Seung-no's dark side.
3. Synopsis
Mission 1. Must move up to top 3, 000 nationwide.. from 300,000!!!!
SON Tae-il(CHA Tae-hyun) is a super problem child of Kang High. He has an incredible IQ of 148, but, unfortunately, he's only interested in marrying his first love Il-mae(SON Ye-jin). When Tae-il demands marriage with Il-mae and strays farther away from school, Young-dal(YOO Dong-geun) and Il-mae come up with a proposal to 'bring Tae-il back to the right track.' He openly declares that he would allow Tae-il to marry his daughter Il-mae if he could raise his rank up to top 3, 000 nationwide from his current status of 300,000.
Mission 2. Protect your first love from sleazeballs~!
Tae-il accepts the ridiculous proposal without a second thought. And 2 years later, he does pull up his rank up top 3,000 nationwide and is admitted to the Law School of Seoul National University. However, fooled by Young-dal's skillfully touching(?) performance, incorporating tears and snots, Tae-il gets softhearted and promises Young-dal that he'll keep Il-mae 'pure' until he passes the judicial examination. A man's words weigh and worth as much as thousand gold! From then on, Tae-il's ultimate mission is to protect Il-mae from all the sleazeballs who approach her~!
Mission 3. Pass the 1st Level Judicial Examination?
Tae-il's new job as Il-mae's personal bodyguard has begun. However, his double-duty of studying for the judicial examination and monitoring Il-mae's whereabouts is keeping him awake 24-7. On the other hand, Il-mae, who wants to enjoy her college life and date boys, gets frustrated watching Tae-il, who only focuses on his study and even rejects Il-mae's approach to kiss him. What she doesn't realize is that he's doing all this to be with her.
Mission 4. Win Il-mae's Love and Keep her Forever!
After countless night of no sleep and nosebleed, Tae-il finally passes the 1st level judicial examination. However, at his congratulatory party, Il-mae drops the bomb by confessing her love for another man. Tae-il can't believe his ears. Can this be really happening? Will Tae-il be able to regain and keep his first love?

As a début film director, veteran television director OH smoothly operated his commands and dominated the production atmosphere with his solid directing background and his charismatic presence. "Now days in our society, where love has become a matter of convenience and the formality and technicality have become the general trend, I wanted to think about the meaning of love from a different perspective," says director OH of his purpose behind <Crazy First Love>. With that statement, the count down has begun and the anticipation is already soaring.

Popcorn Film, Inc. was first established in 1999 as Atoms Entertainment, Inc. and as its debute film <Just Do It> was produced, starring PARK Sang-myun, LEE Beom-su, PARK Jin-hee and JEONG Joon. In 2001, the company was revived with a new name Popcorn Film, Inc.

Cinema Service was initiated in 1993 as KANG Woo-suk Productions, founded by the director KANG Woo-suk of several hit comedies such as "Two Cops" and "How to Top My Wife". The company moved into investment and distribution in 1995, changing its name to Cinema Service. Since then, the company has steadily but rapidly expanded and grown into one of the largest film distributors in Korea. With its remarkable success in film distribution and investment, the company attracted a $17 million investment from Warburg Pincus in April 2000.
Cinema Service has released over 70 films since its inception and found critical and commercial success with such hits as "Tell Me Something," "Attack the Gas Station!" "Nowhere to Hide," and "Bichunmoo." In March 2001, Cinema Service entered into a new era when acquired by Locus Holdings Corporation, the largest integrated media company in Korea. And, in May 2002, Cinema Service merged with Locus Holdings and became a unit of Plenus Entertainment.
Ranking No. 1 in market share of year 2001(22.6%) and 2002(22.3%), it opened year 2002 with PUBLIC ENEMY (3M, national-wide) and closed with JAIL BREAKERS(3M). MARRYING THE MAFIA became the No. 1 hit with 5M, and its remake rights were immediately sold to Warner Bros. Films such as TURNING GATE (HONG Sang-soo), CHIHWASEON (IM Kwon-taek, Best Director Award, Cannes '02) and MY BEAUTIFUL GIRL, MARI (Grand Prix, Annecy '02) were highly acclaimed in the international film festivals. Cinema Service is yet to become even stronger with at least 20 new Korean films to be presented in year 2003.
