故 事 簡 介

將 60 年 代 美 國 天 才 洋 溢 的 電 視 節 目 創 作 人 Chuck Barris 傳 奇 一 生 ， 搬 上 銀 幕 。 他 自 稱 在 還 是 寂 寂 無 名 的 製 作 人 時 ， 已 被 中 央 情 報 局 徵 召 ， 接 受 特 訓 成 為 國 家 特 務 ， 開 始 其 雙 重 身 份 的 離 奇 生 涯 。 影 片 將 Chuck Barris 奇 緣 一 生 實 錄 ， 他 的 光 輝 事 業 成 就 ， 除 了 帶 給 全 國 觀 眾 歡 笑 聲 外 ， 更 是 曾 狙 殺 33 人 的 劊 子 手 。

Chuck Barris( 森 洛 維 爾 飾 ) 在 自 傳 中 記 載 ， 於 未 成 名 前 ， 被 情 報 局 的 占 ( 佐 治 古 尼 飾 ) 跟 蹤 監 察 ， 挑 選 他 作 為 中 央 情 報 局 特 務 。 他 在 娛 樂 圈 發 跡 期 間 ， 一 直 兼 顧 刺 客 任 務 。 Chuck Barris 可 謂 是 60 年 代 美 國 最 成 功 的 電 視 創 作 人 ， 所 創 辦 的 電 視 遊 戲 節 目 < 雙 睇 遊 戲 > 、 < 新 婚 遊 戲 > 及 <Gong Show> 皆 是 史 無 前 例 ， 大 受 歡 迎 的 遊 戲 節 目 ， 內 容 破 天 荒 著 重 參 賽 者 的 臨 場 發 揮 及 自 然 反 應 作 內 容 ， 打 破 事 先 安 排 「 照 稿 讀 」 的 舊 有 模 式 ， 以 令 人 尷 尬 及 揭 人 瘡 疤 的 真 臉 目 來 娛 樂 大 眾 ， 創 下 全 新 概 念 ， 故 被 譽 為 是 美 國 電 視 史 上 ， 渲 染 保 守 單 純 電 視 節 目 的 第 一 人 ， 不 良 文 化 的 始 作 俑 者 ， 現 時 極 之 流 行 的 「 真 人 騷 」 始 祖 。

Chuck Barris 不 特 止 改 變 了 電 子 文 化 的 大 氣 候 ， 於 1969 年 ， 他 的 自 家 作 業 製 作 公 司 ， 更 以 第 一 家 獨 立 製 作 社 的 姿 態 ， 雄 霸 了 全 美 電 視 圈 ， 在 最 高 峰 期 ， 在 一 星 期 的 節 目 表 中 ， 個 人 獨 佔 27 個 半 小 時 的 節 目 在 電 視 台 播 放 。 其 中 最 賣 錢 的 ， 是 他 另 一 空 前 絕 後 ， 獲 全 國 收 視 冠 軍 之 遊 戲 節 目 < 家 長 遊 戲 > 。

除 了 電 視 節 目 製 作 人 身 份 外 、 Chuck 更 當 過 作 曲 家 ， 其 作 品 <Palisades Park> 曾 經 打 入 流 行 榜 5 大 位 置 ， 取 得 金 唱 片 銷 量 ， 亦 撰 寫 了 三 本 著 作 、 且 是 獲 過 大 獎 的 攝 影 師 ， 雖 貴 為 多 媒 體 創 作 人 ， 卻 有 鮮 為 人 知 的 一 面 ， 他 在 自 傳 中 披 露 其 美 國 中 央 情 報 局 的 殺 手 身 份 。 自 稱 曾 與 遊 戲 節 目 得 獎 者 海 外 旅 行 其 間 ， 分 別 在 赫 爾 辛 基 及 西 柏 林 進 行 刺 殺 任 務 ， 其 後 更 瞞 著 對 他 不 離 不 棄 的 女 友 彭 尼 ( 祖 芭 莉 摩 亞 飾 ) ， 與 女 特 務 柏 翠 茜 亞 ( 茱 莉 亞 羅 拔 絲 飾 ) 發 生 了 一 段 糾 纏 不 清 的 關 係 。 及 後 情 報 局 內 發 現 有 臥 底 埋 伏 ， 竟 把 他 身 邊 的 人 逐 一 剷 除 ， 惹 來 陣 陣 懸 疑 殺 機 ， Chuck 的 最 後 任 務 ， 是 要 找 出 奸 細 ， 才 可 以 退 隱 江 湖 。

CONFESSIONS OF A DANGEROUS MIND

"My name is Charles Hirsch Barris. I have written pop songs, I have been a television producer. I am responsible for polluting the airwaves with mind-numbing puerile entertainment. In addition, I have murdered thirty-three human beings."

Television made him famous, but his biggest hits happened off screen. CONFESSIONS OF A DANGEROUS MIND is the story of a legendary showman's double life - television producer by day, CIA assassin by night.

Young, energetic, and focused on a top career in the growing television industry, Chuck Barris finds himself being followed by a suspicious character who quickly lures him into a secretive and dangerous world: that of a CIA operative. While Barris gains notoriety as a dynamic television producer - creating such innovative and popular game shows as "The Newlywed Game" and the self-hosted "The Gong Show" - he regularly executes assassinations for the United States government. As ratings rise, Barris incorporates his shows into his secret life: winning couples on "The Dating Game" find themselves shipped off to "fabulous Helsinki" and "romantic West Berlin" for their dream dates - it isn't Paris, but it provides chaperone Barris a cover for his covert missions.

As Barris basks in the glamour of his two worlds - entertainment and espionage - his life begins to spiral out of control. He is torn between the woman who loves him and the mysterious woman of his fantasies. He receives mass criticism from the public who accuses him of contaminating the airwaves…and he finds himself marked for death by a traitor operative.

Barris must regain control of his life. Both of them.

CONFESSIONS OF A DANGEROUS MIND stars Sam Rockwell in a breakthrough performance as the legendary Chuck Barris.

The film marks the directorial debut of George Clooney, from a screenplay by Charlie Kaufman. Also starring are Drew Barrymore as Barris's girlfriend Penny, Julia Roberts as an international operative known as Patricia, Rutger Hauer as secret agent Keeler, and Clooney as C.I.A. agent Jim Byrd.

Andrew Lazar is the film's producer. Steven Soderbergh is executive producing, along with Rand Ravich.
