姬 都 錫 ( 鄭 俊 浩 飾 演 ) 是 漢 城 一 個 年 青 的 幫 會 頭 目 ， 剛 率 領 手 下 把 盤 據 在 明 洞 的 敵 對 幫 會 打 敗 。 雖 然 幫 會 的 一 眾 首 領 對 他 能 奪 得 明 洞 的 控 制 權 都 非 常 讚 賞 ， 但 首 領 說 要 讓 姬 都 錫 再 進 學 校 讀 書 ， 待 中 學 畢 業 才 把 明 洞 管 理 人 這 個 位 子 給 他 ， 因 為 現 在 很 多 新 加 入 的 幫 眾 不 少 都 唸 過 大 學 ， 而 都 錫 連 電 郵 都 不 知 是 什 麼 ， 只 可 無 奈 答 應 。

都 錫 的 其 中 一 名 手 下 成 滔 ( 鄭 雄 仁 飾 演 ) 常 炫 耀 自 己 讀 過 大 學 ， 又 去 過 美 國 ， 即 替 都 錫 物 色 學 校 。 另 一 名 手 下 椰 子 頭 ( 鄭 雲 澤 飾 演 ) 自 告 奮 勇 說 要 幫 忙 ， 但 他 並 不 知 道 現 在 學 生 的 時 髦 潮 流 ， 買 書 包 也 只 知 買 名 牌 手 提 袋 ， 又 不 知 要 買 些 什 麼 課 本 ， 更 老 土 地 的 叫 手 下 張 起 橫 額 送 都 錫 入 學 ， 鬧 出 不 少 笑 話 ．

都 錫 第 一 天 上 學 即 因 遲 到 而 被 嚴 厲 的 班 主 任 趙 老 師 教 訓 ， 而 都 錫 那 成 熟 的 打 扮 也 令 他 成 為 同 學 的 目 光 焦 點 ， 學 校 中 的 小 流 氓 也 不 知 死 活 地 向 他 找 麻 煩 ， 勒 索 金 錢 和 香 煙 ， 都 錫 怕 鬧 事 影 響 畢 業 ， 只 得 盡 量 忍 受 扮 作 乖 乖 學 生 的 模 樣 。

學 校 裡 的 師 資 雖 然 不 錯 ， 但 學 生 的 質 素 參 差 ， 有 專 欺 負 同 學 的 流 氓 ， 也 有 恃 著 父 親 是 有 勢 力 人 士 而 不 把 老 師 看 在 眼 裡 的 富 家 小 姐 ， 更 有 一 定 要 考 到 好 成 績 ， 得 到 獎 學 金 才 能 繼 續 升 學 的 苦 學 生 ． 而 學 校 方 面 ， 亦 不 時 以 各 種 名 目 向 學 生 收 費 歛 財 。 苦 學 生 恩 珠 ( 吳 承 恩 飾 演 ) 為 了 得 到 讀 書 的 機 會 ， 一 方 面 努 力 學 習 ， 一 方 面 晚 上 在 夜 總 會 上 班 ， 不 料 在 夜 總 會 與 都 錫 碰 個 正 著 ， 恩 珠 以 為 都 錫 是 富 家 子 ， 負 氣 地 說 為 了 讀 書 ， 不 惜 賣 身 ， 所 以 很 羡 慕 有 錢 人 家 ， 都 錫 不 敢 暴 露 身 份 。

學 校 用 各 種 名 目 向 學 生 歛 財 的 消 息 在 互 聯 網 上 流 傳 ， 校 長 以 為 是 因 此 得 不 到 獎 學 金 的 恩 珠 所 為 ， 即 在 眾 多 學 生 面 前 痛 打 恩 珠 ， 都 錫 雖 然 早 已 對 恩 珠 有 好 感 ， 但 怕 妨 礙 畢 業 ， 不 敢 挺 身 相 救 ， 思 珠 被 打 重 傷 。

都 錫 把 學 校 中 發 生 的 事 與 手 下 商 量 ， 而 成 滔 亦 查 到 都 錫 所 就 讀 的 學 校 是 由 對 頭 的 黑 幫 控 制 ， 但 如 都 錫 不 暴 露 身 份 ， 仍 有 希 望 畢 業 ， 結 論 一 致 認 為 都 錫 不 應 牽 涉 進 此 事 。 一 日 ， 由 校 長 召 來 的 黑 幫 聲 勢 浩 大 地 帶 備 武 器 來 到 學 校 門 前 ， 毆 打 在 門 前 聚 集 的 學 生 和 老 師 ， 都 錫 終 忍 無 可 忍 出 手 ， 但 寡 不 敵 眾 … …

MY BOSS MY HERO

Synopsis

As the boss of a small gang, Kye Du-shik had gotten by on his wits and bare knuckles for the past 10 years. That was soon to change. Held back from promotion within the ranks due to his lack of education. Du-shik heads back to school under the orders of a superior gang leader. His return is not without its complications. Intimidation dealt out by a high school hoodlum, a mischievous female student posing problems with her powerful parents relenting to her every wish, and a school that is out of control are but a few of the hazards that lay in the path of Du-shik's education.

As adjustment seems to be around the corner another bump on the horizon come into view, Du-shik is beginning to have feelings for his classmate Yun-ju. He may be attracted to her no frills appearance, but what really impresses him is her power-packed punch.

The beautiful English teacher is set to make a mark on Sang-du. While dropping off lunch for Du-shik, he quickly strikes up a conversation and is immediately taken by her attractiveness. He vows to protect her should the occasion arise.

The road is not so smooth for our young hero. Although his classmates are infected by his charismatic personality and charm will they help when the time come? He sets the stage to avenge the wrongdoings of a corrupt school system. He may succeed, but will he graduate?

Production Note

" My Boss My Hero" is a movie about gangsters. The main theme is a comic portrayal of what happens to a small time boss when he returns to complete his high school education.

The movie does not adrocate a fundamental style of comedy, using the gangs and the ways in which they clash with the so-called "average people" as the essence of the humor it explores two further aspects of Korean society. First is Korean society's importance regarding education: the second is school violence.

The korean title of the film is "Doo Sa Bu I1 Che" which translatrs into English as "Boss, Father and Teacher are One". This instructive phrase is mentioned several times throughout the movie, which gives a clue as to what the director is trying to emphasize. In the past, the boss, the father, and the teacher were symbolic roles in Korean society and wielded enormous strength and respect. However in the film these traits are nowhere to be seen and are rather nostalgic relics of the past that Du-shik carries with him.

To quote the director. Yum Je-gyun: My Boss - My Hero is not a typical comedy to watch to merely kill time" He is assured that all will enjoy this film, taking home with them not only a smile, but a satirical glimpse into a slice of Korean society.
